The William T Cooper Retrospective at Tablelands Regional Gallery

The late William T Cooper AO (1934-2015) was a world-renowned wildlife artist from the Atherton Tablelands who has been described by Sir David Attenborough as ‘the best ornithological illustrator alive’.  Renowned for his obsessive attention to detail and desire for perfection, his paintings capture a depth of detail difficult to see in the wild. His works are mostly held in private collections throughout Australia and overseas, including the Australian National Library and the New Guinea government.

The Tableland Regional Gallery is hosting the William T Cooper Retrospective opening 1 September 2017. The Retrospective is a series of events based around an exhibition that reflect on the works and legacy of the artist.

TFFF approved a one-off distribution to support the development and delivery of the William T Cooper Retrospective at the Tablelands Regional Gallery.
