Tim Fairfax Family Foundation Annual Report 2019-2020

Welcome

On behalf of the Trustees, it gives me great pleasure to share with you the Tim Fairfax Family Foundation Annual Report for 2019/20.

This financial year was marked by significant change and we saw many organisations grappling with the consequences of COVID-19, notably in the Arts sector. In response to this difficult time, the Foundation resolved to continue supporting those organisations that are aligned with our existing mission and to maintain close communication with them.

In June, we farewelled TFFF’s inaugural Executive Officer, Samantha Jorgensen. Samantha played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Foundation in 2008 and initiated many connections with organisations which continue today. As Chairman, I would particularly like to pay tribute to Sam’s contribution. Her foresight and ability to forge relationships with our partners is testament to how respected she is in the philanthropic arena, particularly here in Queensland and the Northern Territory.  We thank Sam for her exceptional dedication to our mission and vision and wish her the very best for her future endeavours.

Finally, I would like to thank Foundation Trustees, Advisors, and particularly staff for their support and dedication during the year. I appreciate their ability to adjust in unprecedented times.
