Camerata Live! delights regional Queensland on tour
In October, after a process of consultation with regional communities, schools and businesses, Camerata — Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra shared the exciting news they were taking their Camerata Live! tour to Western Queensland.
Over five days, Camerata musicians visited communities in Toowoomba, Dalby, Chinchilla and St George for a series of choral workshops led by Tibetan artist Tenzin Choegyal, alongside string workshops and performances. All these events were delivered with social distancing measures in place, in accordance with COVID-safe touring guidelines.
Following workshops, local students in Chinchilla and St George joined the musicians and Tenzin onstage as part of evening concert programs. During the tour, Camerata musicians also gave a specially designed concert for young people aged four to five years old in a fun, interactive session.

Tim Fairfax Family Foundation congratulates Camerata on this innovative and inclusive program, which provides Queensland’s regional communities with unique opportunities to be empowered, inspired and enriched through music.
