Camerata takes performances online

Queensland’s chamber orchestra, Camerata, has responded to the COVID-19 restrictions on public gatherings by activating a number of online performances that continue to delight and inspire audiences through this challenging time.

Camerata’s 5@5 daily performances, filmed at home by members of the ensemble and accessible for free via YouTube, have already seen more than 150,000 listeners tune in for a short musical break each day at 5pm. With their short format and informal setting, these performances provide a welcome sense of connection and have become a daily ritual for many during this time of social isolation.

Camerata has also teamed up with the Little Red Company for The Isolate Late Show, streamed live online each Friday evening from 8pm. Funds raised from these at-home concert events will directly benefit artists across the creative industries who have been affected by the sudden cancellation of shows and venue closures due to COVID-19.

Tim Fairfax Family Foundation applauds Camerata for these and other initiatives that demonstrate Camerata’s trademark qualities of innovation, flexibility and adventurous programming. We look forward to enjoying more remarkable performances from this renowned Queensland ensemble very soon.
