About the TFFF

Supporting rural, regional and remote communities in Queensland and the Northern Territory.

This foundation has been established by our family who spent twenty years living and working on a cattle property in rural Queensland. It is the family’s intention to support Queenslanders and Northern Territorians living in rural, regional, and remote parts to access opportunities equal to those in metropolitan areas. We hope that our foundation will act as a catalyst for others to engage in their own philanthropic pursuits.
— Tim Fairfax AC

The Tim Fairfax Family Foundation (TFFF) exists to support rural, regional and remote communities in Queensland and the Northern Territory to address the particular challenges they face due to geographic location.

It was established in June 2008 by Founder and Chairman Tim Fairfax AC, Trustees Gina Fairfax AC and Jim Peterson (Responsible Person) and Advisors Sarah O’Brien, Lucy Coulson, Fiona Poschelk and Prue Pateras.

The TFFF focuses on initiatives that are locally driven, support leadership, encourage diversity, strengthen community and involve collaboration between both private and public sector partners. It works to make reality a future where people in rural, regional and remote areas of Queensland and the Northern Territory are afforded a level of opportunity equal to their metropolitan counterparts.

The TFFF is only able to support entities registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) and endorsed as Charitable Item 1 Deductible Gift Recipients (DGRs).
